EMail Scams

There are many emails circulating whereby the goal is to part you (the public) from your hard earned cash, the first is PHISHING.

No its not a misspelling, phishing is where you receive an email, which looks like it comes from a financial institution.and is asking you for information. These emails look very realistic and at first glance, you could understandably think they originated from the organisation they claim to come from.. The layout and logos all look like the real thing, and even the web address link they ask you to click on looks realistic.

HOWEVER DO NOT BE DECEIVED, NONE OF THE  FINANCIAL ORGANISATIONS WILL EVER APPROACH YOU IN THIS MANNER AND ASK YOU TO SUPPLY THE INFORMATION REQUESTED IN THE EMAIL.

OUR ADVICE IS DELETE THE EMAIL DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CONNECT TO THEIR WEB SITE

There are many others they mostly however start as bad luck stories, whereby someone may have died, or not, and a vast sum of money will fall into the hands of some corrupt government, unless you the kind hearted, knight in shining armour ride to the rescue.

Needless to say, all sort of inticing rewards are promised. There is however (as always) a catch, they need your bank details or a small payment as proof of good faith, or to pay some of their expenses.

The latest version is supposedly from foreign companies wishing agents in this country to assist with banking here. As usual for these scams they are playing on peoples greed, hoping the salary or precentage being offered will help make you more comfortable about handing over a deposit or "good faith payment"

OUR ADVICE IS  - IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS. DELETE IT AND DELETE ALL JUNK MAIL, NEVER EVER REPLY OR YOU WILL FIND YOU START GETTING SWAMPED WITH OTHER SUCH MAIL
